My mother died when I was young, and my father remarried twice after. Each time, in the interest of ‘bonding’ with the new step-mother, he encouraged me to let her adopt me. I am now in my mid-forties, have no contact with either woman, and would like to restore my birth certificate to its original form.
Can this be done? Which state will I need to petition in? I was born in Colorado, the first adoption was in Washington State and the second was in Oregon. I currently reside in Washington State.

I do not think you can change your BC unless you can prove that the adoptions were the result of fraud or duress. Sorry.

While the BC cannot be changed, if the OP is using the BC name as thier legal name, I wonder if the OP can do a name change petition, to at least be able to use whichever name OP chooses?
