Does anyone know if a New York State Employer can mandate Direct Deposit?
I was able to find a DOL website that shows NYS law says it cannot - however, I am being questioned on my findings.
Also, if NYS does allow DD to be mandated, can the ER also mandate the bank the employees use?

You will note that in New York, you must have the permission of the employee, so, no, you cannot mandate direct deposit. That means the second part of your question, about dictating which bank the employee uses, is irrelevant.
