Thanks for all the info on my previous thread. And thanks so much for your promptness. I will be contacting the Department of Labor regarding "itemized deductions concerning pay". I now have another question. The employer I work for, or did work for, allows his wife to make all the decisions concerning his business. Which is fine, I don't really care except that she treats most everyone terribly. But, she has been accusing people of stealing from the business and is saying these things to other employees. She accuses the waitresses of stealing money from the cash register and identifies them by name, and the kitchen help of stealing food. Not just sandwiches and fries but whole hams and things such as this. She also tells employees that when her husband dies (he's around 20 or 25 years older than her) that she will be firing 2 certain employees because they are thieves. And she called them by name. She doesn't know any of the things she accuses people of to be true, because for one thing she doesn't come in the restaurant unless its to yell at somebody or leave nasty notes on the wall. And is only there for a few minutes. On one note she put up it said, "TO ALL EMPLOYEES IN THE FINAL STAGES OF ALZHEIMERS" - The bad thing about that was that a person who works at the restaurant - her mother in law had alzheimer's and was dying. And I'm sure that being nasty to people is ok under NC law, but it should not be. North Carolina needs to change laws so that employers cannot treat people like they're nothing. Also, one more thing I need to know about is if she can be made to give itemized deductions for pay for 2005. On one person's W2's for 2005, she only showed to take out $50 in federal income tax. True enough, the girl only worked 2 days a week, but it should have been more than that for a year.
Thanks for your help with this.
