I don't think there is a law that governs this, but we would like to pay our nurses inclement weather pay if they work when the office is closed. What, if anything, would be reasonable or should it be done at all. They still get paid for the day.

Why would you pay them any more than their regular pay? I'm not even sure I'd want to set this precedent. Do they have to use their paid time off?

I agree 100%. I've already explained that we are paying them already. But, upper management thinks that they should receive some type of "Hazard Pay" for working under bad weather conditions. My theory is that as nurses they should have an inclement weather plan in place and triage work between nurses vie phone or visits if possible.

The law doesn't require it, but it doesn't prohibit it either. If your employer wants to pay them some form of bonus for working when the office is closed, they can do that. I'm not sure I agree with the precedent they're setting, but they're not going to violate any laws by doing so.
