I have been a factory worker for 8 years in the same place. Divorced, mother of 1 child age 5. This child has an FMLA recognized illness and after a recent Dr visit it was recommended that "I do whatever is necessary" to get her back on track. I quit, without a 2 week notice, with a phone call left on tape for my supervisor to read and have filed for unemployment benefits. After waiting now almost 5 weeks, I've not heard if it has been approved or not. Since it was a voluntary quit, am I eligible for benefits since I quit due to my child's health that would have made it necessary for me to continue to miss alot of scheduled work time for Dr appts etc. ???

I'd be shocked if you were found eligible for UC. For one, quitting because you have to miss work when FMLA is available makes no sense what so ever. Two, in order to be eligible, you must be ready, willing, able and actively seeking full time employment. If you quit your job because you needed to care for your daughter you do not meet this standard.
