I was injured at work and was out from work for more than the 5 days that you must be out in order to recieve payment for missed time. Do you have to claim your money within a certain time? because I just got something in the mail that said they were closing my case I and asked them where my money was and they said it had been too long. Can they not pay me because its been too long? I was injured 7/18/05. Any advice would be helpful

You were injured over a year and a half ago and you only just made a claim now? Is that what you're saying?

If so, yes, it has been too long. Most states have laws requiring that you file your claim within a specified period of time. I don't know offhand what it is in your state but in most states with which I am familiar it's on the order of 30 days, not nineteen months.

Nevada requires you file written notice of the injury to your employer within 7 days of the accident and the "Claim for Compensation" (Form C-4) within 90 days for compensation.
