 My wife is a server for an Italian restaurant here in town and I am a manager for another Italian restaurant across the street. A few days ago my wife was fired because her boss found out that I am a manager for the restaurant across the street. Can he do that? He took her into the office and got in her face and ask her where I work, after she told him where I work he told my wife to get the f#@* out of his restaurant. I don't understand why does it matter where I work. The only reason why we have to work for two seperate company is because we can't work for the same one, it's their policy.

This situation stinks, but it is not illegal.

Wrongful termination is one in which someone is fired because of their inclusion in a protected class.

Working for a competitor is not a protected class.
