What would that average landlord consider resonable late fees for a tenant that pays their rent late. I currently charge % of the rent for the 1st day they are late and $10 each additional day. Rent is due on the 1st and I give them a grace period through the 5th. I've been told by some people that my late fees seem high?

I have rentals in Fl. and charge $20 per day when rent is not recd. by the 2nd. Seems to me the persons claimng you charge too much don't have rental properties. I know someone that charges $50 per day! What they don;t understand is that we don;t want the extra money we just want the rent ON TIME!
