Hello All,

I signed a 8 month lease with a rental agency in Ohio with the full intent of moving out on February 28, 2007. In fact, the 8 month lease was done special because the normally only do 12 month leases. Anyway there is a 45-day notice renewal clause in the lease agreement. They are saying we did not give "written notice" 45 days prior to the expiration of the rental agreement per the contract. so we are being forced to pay additional days of rent beyond our original lease agreement since we notified them late...do we have any options here? or are we just paying? We always stated to move out on 2/28 to them and signed the original agreement with 2/28....what signifies "written notice"? Thanks

I, -----------, will be vacating the apartment (home, whatever) on February 28, 2007. I will not be renewing the lease.


If everybody went by your reasoning (and I do get where you are coming from here) then everybody with a standard lease could ignore the notice requirement listed in the lease.

Unless you can get the rental company to compromise with you, there is no legal way around this for you. Sorry.
