I worked at a company where my overall experience was postitive, but I had a very difficult time working with my direct supervisor. Our work styles were not compatible. I feel that I demonstrated a solid work ethic during my tenure in the position and eventually submitted my voluntary resignation simply because I did not with to work with my supervisor anymore. I have been working in a temporary position for the past eleven months and am going to be interviewing for new positions this week. In the event that things progress and this prospective employer checks my references, what can human resources at my old company tell them? Will they be able to divulge the information pertaining the the inability of my supervisor to work together in harmony? Or will they just be able to verify dates of employment and salary? Thank you for your help.

Yes, so long as they don't lie. Opinions about your ability to get along with others are just that. Opinions, neither fact nor fiction and they can offer their opinion about your ability to work with others.
