Hi, I live in Indiana and I am currently renting an apt. I recently found a home and I am planning on purchasing the home. My lease is not due to cease until Nov. 22, 2007. I have contacted my landlord and tried to work with him, but he keeps telling me I signed a legally binding contract and if I break it I will be taken to court, and have to pay all his court cost if he wins. So I am reading my contract to see if there is a "loophole" so I can move, I couldnt believe what I found! By the "legally binding contract" that i signed, my landlord has over charged me $65.00 every month for the past 39 months. I havent told him yet because I dont know what to do. Does anyone think this would be a leverage for me if he takes me to court? Could I maybe get out of my lease early. Thanks alot!
