I am a landlord and have a tenant moving out and there are some broken blinds and other repairs that will need to be done. I am wondering if my labor to fix things (beyond normal wear and tear) is worth anything against the deposit?
I know that if I were to hire a handyman etc to do the work I would have to pay him by the hour and that could be debited against the deposit, but its much easier and efficient for me to do it myself and I dont want to be shortchanging myself for labor time and effort.
