I have a court date on Jan 30th. I filed for child support and I was on a 8 month track. I was told that I could file for a motion, so I did. I am representing myself and I am a bit inimidated of the whole situation.

What are they going to ask me? I filled out the financial statement that we have to take with us. I don't have my w2's yet and I am not sure if I will have them in time but I did fill out the statement off of my last paystub which is the same anyway.

What should I expect when we show up to court for this temporary order? The only thing that I read was that this was a bit faster than the actual court date that is months from now and I don't know when. What will happen if he gets a lawyer and I don't have one? Will I be screwed? I really can't afford one but I think that made too much to qualify for a free lawyer.

My daughter's father is still involved in her life. He watches her until I get off of work on the days that I work late, I work a flexible schedule. On Average he is probably with her about 38 to 48 hours a week.

Can someone guide me on what I need to do?

Have you located your state's CS statutes and read up on them? Those will be a good guide as to what you'll be asked. Usually they want to know your financial situation, income and health insurance info. They might ask about how often the NCP visits, etc.

Even if he has an attorney, setting an original CS order is more mathmatics based on state guidelines than anything else, so you don't really need to worry about being pro-se.

Sometimes a hearing for a temp order will be very short and then more info can be given later.
