I was recently terminated from my job. What is the time frame that the employer has to give me my final pay check?

If an employee is discharged, the final paycheck is due not later than the end of the next business day. ORS 652.140(1)

Example: If an employee is discharged on Saturday, the check is due on Monday by the end of the day. If an employee is discharged on Monday, the check is due by the end of the day on Tuesday.

In California, if an employee is let go, the check is due on thier last day of work.

According to TWC you have 6 days after last day of work to issue final paycheck.

Yes, you are correct:

Texas If employee is fired: within six days. If employee quits: next regularly scheduled payday. (Texas Code Ann., Labor §61.014)

if you resign and prior to your resignation they terminate you - does that follow they have to pay you by the end of the next business day?

can they legally cut short how much they owe you by terminating you before your 2 weeks are up?

what's to stop them from terminating you but not telling you that you are terminated and therefore they don't comply with Texas Code Ann., Labor §61.014 by paying you in a timely fashion?

sorry for the triple attack. :( but thank you for your experience & knowledge :D

ehaynes, this thread is nearly 3 years old. I'm sure the problem has been resolved by now.
