hello i was employed the last 12 years as a idustrial spray painter.the company supply a respirator for me but did not supply rubber gloves or protective clothing.i recently learned that ohsa requires a spriagraph for my lungs.i worked for another company and had one every year.thiis company never sent me to have one.is there any recourse for me to take? the company really didn't care about my safety.i have been wrote up many times for attendence and late paperwork.my superviser has cought me not using my mask maybe a 100 times but never wrote me up for that. if i get sick in my lungs will they be lible?ethylbenzene was one of the many chemical in the paints

While i'm unfamiliar with your industry specific regulations, you're post begs the question;

Why were you caught "maybe a 100 times" not using the company provided and required PPE ? This makes me believe that you also disregarded safety. I see that as a much larger issue if you do ever contract any respiratory issues associated with that employer.

As far as the other items, did you ever ask for additional PPE ? and if so, what was the companies response?

my superviser has cought me not using my mask maybe a 100 times but never wrote me up for that. Huh? If you KNOW you're being exposed to toxins in the paint, why would you not wear your respirator???!!!

BTW, if you believe your employer is not complying with OSHA reg's for PPE, annual testing, etc., then you should contact OSHA and file a complaint.

Your employer appears to have some safety compliance violations occurring. I also would have fired you long ago for not wearing your respirator and complying with company safety rules. Sheesh.
