My wife is the Manager of a local Convience store. Her salary is based on a 48 hr. work week @ $500 per week Before taxes. She has not been able to take a Day from work and puts in from 70 to 84 hrs a week.
Is she able to recieve any type of compensation for the extra hours that she has worked above the standard 48? And her salary is also based on that she must work the 48 hrs in a 6 day straight period. If she takes a day off in between the 6, they will dock her pay for that day. Even if she has over the 48 hours salaried.
Personal time has not been allowed for her. Her Grandmother passed away recently, and her company will not allow her to take the day off from work to attend the funeral.
Is this legal?
She is exhausted, and fed up. Anything that I can tell her that will give her any hope of staying with this company?
