I went to my regular dentist because my gums had bled. He measured the pocket depth, looked around briefly and said I was fine. I asked him if I should see a periodontist and he said no. I asked him at least one more time and also what I should do of it bled again. He said don't touch it. I could come in more frequently for cleanings. I also told him the area had an odor and the gusm had a weird tecture in that area,

I went to the periodontist today. I have gum disease in various places and that particular tooth is so bad it may need to be pulled due to bone loss.

Is it worth getting a consult for malpractice or is this too weak?

You may be able to find a malpractice attorney who will provide a consult for a modest fee. Ultimately, a professional needs to review all of your records to determine whether malpractice occurred.

Get a second opinion from another specialist before you think about legal action.
