My lease ends Jan 28 2007, I gave written notice to my apartment complex 45 days in advance that I would not be renewing my lease. They are forcing my to extend my lease a month and are increasing the rent for Feb. is this legal? I have already signed the lease for the new complex now im stuck. Also they violated my apartment for parking my motorcycle in front of my truck using only one parking space but there is nothing in the lease that prohibits it. It was not interfering with traffic or any other parking space. please help before they screw me over

read your first lease and see how much notice you should give them for non renewal of the lease, its usually 60 days....no one can force you to extend your lease if you have given them proper notice as specified in the lease.
