Hello all.
I have a very sticky situation on my hands and need whatever info possible on what to do. Please remain open-minded as i explain what happened. In August 2001, I was living in Oregon and met someone who i thought would be a "friend" nothing more to it., within 5 days he had beaten on me and put me on a corner with him and his friend sitting and watching me. Every time i would turn around crying telling him i didn't and couldn't do that he would beat me. Any time i mentioned calling home, he would beat me and threaten the lives not only of me, but the lives of my family. Each time I would get arrested, he would move us to a different county or state, forcing me to leave and miss court dates. I believe i currently have 4 active warrants between 2 seperate states and i want to get them cleared up. My main question is, is there a way that i can get these matters cleared up without having to return to the west coast?., and is there a statute of limitations on FTA warrants of misdemeanor charges in Arizona., also, does Arizona extradict?

It sounds like jail might be the safest place for you.
Wtih very few exceptions, warrants are active until they're served. Statutes of limitations generally govern the time between when the crime occurs until the state commences prosecution by filing the charging instrument with the court. That would happen before an FTA warrant would be issued.

because i served time on both cases., in both cases i think the warrants are due to missing court dates after having served the time and also not paying the court fines.., would i be looking at much time if i went and took care of that?, or would it depend on what state the charges were in?
and thanks for the help.

It sounds like you're talking about violations of probation. You could have the balance of your probation revoked on any of your cases.
What will actually occur is hard to say. It depneds on state law, the area, the judge, and how overcrowded the jails or prisons are. In some parts of Georgia, a first time burglar willl always get probation, but in the country, breaking into the school and stealing ice cream will get you 5 years to serve.

Yes, what is in your best interest is to surrender in the places that have warrants for your arrest.

ok, well right now the places that have warrants for me are on the opposite side of the country from where i am now., how do i do that without it costing me too much money to go and surrender? also, if i were to have the local police run my name to double check my warrants just to verify that they are there, would they take me into custody if the warrants were found?., and if the states the warrants are in do not claim me in so many days, what would happen, would the warrants stay active or be abolished due to the state not claiming me?

I have no idea how you would accomplish this. I would think that when you turn yourself in for one, they will search to see if you are wanted anywhere else.
If a search is run and the warrants come up, yes, the police will take you into custody.
The warrants stay active until you do whatever you need to do to clear them (turn yourself in).

One thing to look at is whether or not you can get the sentences to run concurrently. Georgia has statutory provisions where a defendant can force his case to come to trial rahter than serving one sentence just to be trnasported to the next jurisdiction to serve a sentence there.
