 I worked for a place for 3 months and when i got hired my boss told me that he didnt mind if we went to the bar on our lunch and have a few drinks he just didnt want us to come to work drunk...I didnt really think anything of it but then i noticed that alot of the people there took him off on the "drinking at work" offer. There was even a girl (a supervisor) who kept a bottle of hard liquor in her desk. The boss new about this and didnt' mind. I recently was terminated from my job about a week ago. For reasons i'm not sure. Isn't it illegal to allow drinking in the work environment???

Sure.
Not smart and certainly not professional... but it is not illegal unless that drinking is inappropriate for other reasons...
For instance, if it is a trucking company I wouldn't suggest the drivers drink. However, a three martini lunch was long a standard of the professional day for many years.

No.
I cannot tell why you were fired. It could have been because you would not engage in the social activities. That would suck, but I can't say it would be illegal.

Not since Prohibition.
