I have recently been told my employer failed to take out premiums for my health insurance through payroll deductions. I have been told I need to fund this error by paying for the premiums for the entire year over the next few pay periods before the end of the year. Are they allowed to force me to pay for this benefit since they erred? Also, if I need to pay for the premiums since January 1, 2006, can they make me pay for it by the end of the year?

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Where do so many people get the idea that if the employer makes a mistake, they are home free? Why should you get free health insurance because of a clerical error? For that matter, why didn't you notify the employer that no deductions were being taken?

From that you may conclude that yes, you can be required to pay for the premiums no matter whose mistake it was. And you will find that for tax reasons, it is very much to your benefit to pay them before the end of the year.
