I cant seem to find info on this.

during the week of Nov. 13th - 19 we had monday (13th) off unpaid. So normally I would work 32 hours. I ended up working 43 hours getting paid 3 hours overtime.

Is this correct or should anything over 32 hours be overtime?

So no matter what do you have to physically work 40 hours to get overtime?

And if I would have gotten paid for monday it would look like this?
40 hours regular
3 hours overtime
8 hours holiday

Basically do you count holiday hours (paid or unpaid) twards your 40????

Hope that makes sense to someone.

Overtime is based on hours WORKED, not on hours paid. Overtime is due only when you WORK more than 40 hours a week. You were paid correctly.

Correct. With 43 hours of work, you must be paid three hours of overtime. The regular hours and holiday are at your regular rate of pay.

If the employer wants to be more generous than the requirements of the law, it could pay you 32 straight, 8 holiday and 11 OT, but that is solely up to the company.
