I work in a union steel shop and they are trying to get us to clean our areas better at the end of our shift. Apparently, my area was not clean enough, so the Improvement Manager sent an email to all the foremen and the Operations Manager. In this email, he claimed that the "3rd shift operator (Me) on Nov. 17 at Mo 2(the machine I was on) did not put away his tools properly." He did not mention me by name, but it is very easy to go to the machine and look up my name on that date so the supervisors could know who he was talking about.
The problem is that one of the supervisors printed about 20 copies of this email and posted them all over the lunchroom and in areas of the shop for all to see. These were still around 16 hours later when I returned for my next shift. Anybody could have looked up my name at the machine, so they know it was me who did not clean up well enough.
Is this considered harassment, and should I take legal action?
Thanks.
