As a salaried exempt employee, I am being asked to work until 11pm and report back to work at 6am

also, i'm a second shift management individual and am asked repeated to work first shift one day, second shift the next

would like to know legallity oof these issues

Absolutely legal, both of them.

There are a VERY few industries where there is a public safety factor involved, in which the number of hours worked and the length of time between shifts is limited (think airline pilot and truck driver) but there are no such restrictions for general employment in any state.

Smart? Maybe, maybe not.

Legal? Yup.
