And it's also legal to require a part-time worker to work 40+ hours during the course of the workweek. If you are continuously scheduled to work a fulltime schedule, I agree this may be a problem with respect to the issue of benefits eligibility. If the purpose of designating you as part-time is intentional as a means to deny specific benefits; this would be a huge problem. I fully realize that you'd rather work parttime. I'd suggest chatting with the boss to see if another work schedule is available that better fits your needs. |
