I work for a company who at the beginning of the year is switching insurance companies for short term disability and long term disability claims. I currently have short term disability through our existing company and was told that when I deliver come April 2007, that due to my pre-existing condition, I would only get three weeks paid for my maternity leave. Is this possible? Are there laws that would cover me for the full six weeks after delivery?
Please advise.

Thanks.

No, there is no law in Michigan, or most other states, that you receive any disability benefits at all.
