My Step-daughter in Ga would like to come live with her father and I in NH, however during my husbands divorce his ex was given full custody. His ex has agreed to give joint custody to him, so that she may come live with us. There are no forms available online for Lowndes county, and I am having a very hard time trying to get the right information from the Clerks office. does anyone have any idea what we should do regarding this. I read somewhere that his ex can sign a waiver of jurisdiction so that we can file in NH, but I cnanot find that either. THe schools here will not allow her to enroll without the proper parerwork. please help if you can!

You are going to want to get a lawyer.

You really don't want to wade into these waters without a lifeguard.

My Aunt went through this when one of her daughters went to live with her Ex in Georgia. When my Aunt contacted the school and they told her that they wanted the proper forms my Aunt told them that they have a copy of the original custody and that she was residing in PA and that her daughter wanted to live with her father. She told them that she was fine with the situation and that neither she nor her EX could afford the expense of getting them their proper paper work and that if they wanted to pay for everything that she would be more than happy to oblige them. They accepted a letter from her stating that her daughter was now residing with her father etc.,etc. She had it notorized with witnesses and everything was fine.
