Original post under Family Law General. I have requested a copy of order from Az. I live in LA County and father has moved to Hawaii. It will take two weeks to get order. I have had no communication despite my numerous phone calls to my son/his father. (His father actually acknowledge "seeing my # light up on phone" but has hung up every time)The # I am calling is a cell from Az. My son is 8 and his father started this custody battle when I was still in delivery! I have had this battle for eight years. Father has not always had custody. Father has not provided good number or mailing address in Hawaii. An attorney from Hawaii said there is nothing I can do until I have old order to view. I had phone communication prior to the time they left 6 weeks ago and answered phone up until three weeks ago. It has been three weeks to the day since I last spoke to my son. He missed a lot of school last year and father never put him in school this year prior to leaving Az. This concerns me - a lot concerns me! I am worried and frustrated. My son needs communication with me and I need it with him! What can I do in the mean time until I can look at this order? Thanks for any advice.

You can with some cell phones get the GPS location off the internet. It depends on the brand and if the user has it disabled. (Just a thought)

You could call with a gas station calling card... The numbers that show up on the caller ID are often out of state and not "restricted" so your ex might not hang up at first.

You may wish to contact Child protecive services in Arizona about that fact that your child was not enrolled in school and you have not had contact in weeks.
Call the court where the order was issued ask for them to FED EX you a copy asap and you will pay the difference or FAXED to you (Explain the situation..Court clerks are humans too..I think)... Contact the lawyer that handled it -HIS OR YOURS (as long as it is not still his atty) and request a copy of the order be FAXED to you if they have it on file (and they should).
It should not take 2 weeks!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm familar with the calling card info. That is how I got a hold of him once before about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I will call the coc - sometimes I wonder... I am not familar with the GPS - this sounds like a good start. I know they're on the BI and it isn't very large - at least they were there- The last known phone was a Verizon. He got this for my son and told me the only way I could communicate was through the cell he bought for my son. That is too much responsibility for any child and, too, I had to call after 9pm! Can you believe that? Anyway that phone has been disconnected. The # that does work is a # he uses in work and has had for a while. However he hangs up or has ignored the calls. I make sure to use my cell phone to document all my calls. I'll check the internet for GPS info; thanks for the help.
