I have been employed for a little less than one year and because of this, i am unable to get paid for my maternity leave. is it possible for me to collect short term disability for the time that i will be out? the company has a short term disability plan but again i haven't completed year which will be in march 2005.

It depends on your plan. You need to talk with the insurer.

Most likely if you don't qualify, then you cannot be paid for it.
You do have the FMLA which will at least protect your job while you are out for up to 12 weeks.

Since you have been employed for less than a year, FMLA is not an option.
