Hello, I was offered a job and accepted the offer. My start date was Nov 6, 2006 but on Friday Nov 3, 2006 the HR director called me stated I misrepresented my time at the previous employer. I was at my former company for 2 years and 9 months but the first 8 months were on contract basis and i was my job was made permanent. I explained that to the hiring manager and all the people i interviewed with. My last day there was thursday nov 2, and the following day i find out that they have rescined my offer. I explained the the HR director that i can prove my employment was for the time i stated but she said they have zero tolerance policy! Now i am out both jobs because they faild to tell me this in the thre weeks from my accepting the offer. What are my options?

File for unemployment and look for another job.

Beg for your old job back (if you want it)

Unless you had a actual contract with the new employeer, they are well within thier rights to not hire you for any reason, even after you accepted their offer.
