I am a hourly employee in California. My employer pays every 5th and 20th of each month. If the 5th falls on a Sunday is pay day on Friday or Monday?

Most will typically pay on the Monday.

Only a very few state have a law that requires the pay day to be accelerated when it falls on a holiday or other nonbanking day. Strangely enough, California is not one of them.

I think this would deffiently depend on the employeer and your job. I know many many MANY years ago I worked at McDonald's and they paid the 5th and the 20th regardless of it being a weekend day. So it may be that you will get paid on Sunday.
