I recently quit my job with a no call no show. I was the opening supervisor and did not notify the owner that I was quitting. Once I got back from my trip (about two weeks later), I came back to pick up my final paycheck. The owner refused stating that there where damanges because they had to change the locks, loss of customers from store not opening, and loss of reputation.
He stated becuase he did not here from me that they could only assume the worse and change the locks and security system. I gave him back his key and even though it is two weeks, don't see how I am responsible since I did not force him to change the locks.
Can he deduct my check for damages?
