I work 4 days a week and am going to take FMLA when I have the baby the full 12 weeks. I want to know how FMLA counts 12 weeks, is it Sun-Sat=1 week. Or does it count in days like I work 4 days a weeks so it counts as 4 days of my FMLA for that week. Right now I am on intermidient FMLA and have not used any of the days (did so because I was sick in the beginning, but have not had to use any of it so I still have 12 full weeks available). I am trying to get the most out of my time. Thanks for your answers!

It's weeks, not days. Since you will not be taking intermittent FMLA (you're taking it all at once), your 4-day workweek will be counted as one full week toward the 12.

Can you take intermedient leave when you want to be out for the 12 weeks or no does that not apply.. Hey just asking right?

Intermittant leave would not be appropriate in this case. Intermittant leave would mean that instead of taking a block of twelve weeks off to recover from the birth, you take a few days off here and there. That would be appropriate in cases of migraine headaches, or asthma attacks, but not for pregnancy.

You COULD conceiveably come back to work after your disability benefits run out and then take the rest of the time intermittantly for baby-bonding, but in that case your employer would have the right to refuse you the time. To maximize the amount of time you have available, you want to avoid intermittant time in this case.
