View Full Version : What happens when pay day falls on a holiday? Michigan

My company just informed everyone that if our pay day falls on a holiday that we will not get paid until after the holiday; even if the holiday is on a Friday. Is this illegal?

No. It's not the ideal way of handling things, in my opinion, but it's not illegal.

And, there are a VERY few states in which the law requires the pay day be accelerated if it falls on a banking holiday. Michigan isn't one of them.
