I am 36 weeks pregnant and I am getting very concerned about pay while I am on leave. After talking to my employer of a very large company. I was told that since I have only been there since feburary that I will only be paid three days total. I know that I do not qualify for Fmla. But Is it legal to only pay for three days while out for 6 weeks? They are using my vacation time to pay me. I am ok with that. Also if what they are doing is legal. Is there anything I can look into for help financially? We live pay check to pay check and i dont want to be stressed out about if we will loose the house while on leave.

They don't HAVE to pay anything. There is no mandated maternity leave, paid or not, in Missouri. The only thing is that they cannot treat you differently solely because you are pregnant. If they would only pay accrued vacation for Joe who had to be out of work for the same period because of a broken leg, then they can do the same for you; they aren't required to do any more.
Goes to show that short-term disability insurance is a good deal, even if your employer doesn't offer it as a benefit and you have to buy it yourself.
You might try your county social services agency.
Also, even if you did qualify for FMLA, that is unpaid time.
The only state that requires paid family leave, is CA, and even in CA it's only required in some circumstances.
