I have worked for a pharmacy for 7 years. Last week i was called in to boss's office and was suspended for stealing a product. The product in question was purchased 2 weeks prior but they said it was still in the store the day prior to my suspension. I have checked my bank account and the transaction is there and cleared since i used my debit card for payment. The product in question is for medical use and is currently at my sons school inwhich the school has documents of when it was brought in by me and my sons usage that shows it was in their posession the day i purchased it. upon a retun call from my union rep ( 1 week later) i find out im terminated. I stated to my union rep that there is video cameras and a register tape that would show purchase but management wont research the facts and they just state im terminated. Is there anything i can do ? a call to a lawyer says to wait for the union but they took a week to tell me i was out of a job and i had to initiate that phone call. Suggestions ??

Yeah, do what the attorney says and wait for the union. They should be representing you with the employer in this situation; that's what unions are for.

Well thats what i was doing but the union rep informed me that the owner said i was terminated. So im thinking that I'm basically done with the union

It isn't illegal to fire you for this reason. Your only recourse would be through the union. You really only have two options. 1. move on and forget it, 2. wait for the union to act.
