Hi,
On Friday I recieved my paycheck and found that I was given an extra week's pay. I had been out for 4 wks on FMLA and returned in the middle of the pay period, which I was not aware of (its a 2 week pay period). My manager saw me recieve the check (sealed) which I did not open till after lunch.
After lunch I approached her to discuss a work related matter, and then she asked me if I was paid for a week I did not work, I said yes, she replyed that she was waiting for me to tell her. The fact is she is not responsible for my payroll another office manager is. She then said that payroll called her because something seemed "fishy" because I had not punched in that week. My manager knew that I couldn't because my password expired while on FMLA. She knew that there was a problem yet she did not offer a solution as to how the money would be returned to the company. I felt like she was trying to set me up! I spoke to the office manager about this and she admitted she put me in for 2 weeks by mistake, but payroll never called her. Is there any reason to believe that there is a violation of any labor laws?
Thank you for your response.
