If I have been told my doctor to stop working until the birth of my child (in 3 months) due to complications with the pregnancy. Can I request leave under the Federal Family and Medical Leave act until the baby is born due to my own medical condition? After the baby is born--do I qualify for time under the state Family Leave Act to care for the child?

Thanks in advance.

You can though the state version kicks in one month before the birth of the child. So in your case, you would be on FMLA for 2 months, then one month overlapping FMLA and state, then 2 months of state.
