 CA. When calculating child support I currently understand that the Step parents income is not taken into consideration except for in extreme circumstances. If I am correct on this can someone give me some references to provide back up for this belief? What are some examples of extreme circumstances?

Good luck dealing with the CA system.
My wife is having a problem as her ex is hiding his income with his wifes. Talk to social services.

Yes you are and thank you very much.
My Fiance has Joint legal and physical custody of his daughter. We actually keep her more than 50% of the time, however he must pay 700 a month to the mother. When we get married I am afraid that she will take us back to court because with my earnings the houshold income would be higher. The only way we can afford to keep her and provide everything for her is because I am the one paying for it, if they were to increase the child support I am afraid we may be restricted on meeting my step-daughters needs.
I am still amazed that it is called the justice system, it also does much injustice.

the earnings are determined by his income alone, UNLESS!!!
By continuing the $700 a month, you will allow her to be raised in a better environment than otherwise. That will make sure that when she is an adult, she will know and understand exactly what happened. You will get rewarded.
My ex pays "0" The system is lopsided. I do have full custody tho!

As long as your husband is paying his support and not purposely avoiding paying, your income will not be used to modify the child support order. That is ONLY in extreme circumstances and is usually used after YEARS of non-compliance.

And that was my initial thought process. Unfortunatlly, the only product of the money I have seen after three years is the weed she "oops" accidently sent home with her in the diaper bag.

I would have called the cops. That is endangerment of a "high" magnitude. (sorry) Without that money, the child would not have any hope of a decent meal or place to sleep. Weed is not as bad as meth, It is the beer of the drug world. She could be doing much worse. Still it is ammunition to be used when trying for full custody, with her only having visitation. The child deserves a clean (drug free) home.

The police officers say, that I can't prove that I didn't plant it there. Child protective services says that its really not considered endangerment, they have a list of drugs that are considered dangerous for children to be around, weed is not one of them.
