My boyfriend worked for a very large company in Cincinnati, OH until Monday when they terminated him without cause. We know employers in the state of Ohio are not required to provide benifits in their severance package, but his contract reads that if the law requires, he will be paid for any unused vacation days in the event of firing without cause, which is his case. He had 13 unused days before he was terminated. I'm wondering if anyone knows if employers in the state of Ohio are required to pay unused vacation days to their employees terminated without cause. We don't have much time until he must return his signed severance contract, so your fast help is greatly appreciated.

from my experience in the state of Ohio if you have unused vacation time your employer has to pay you.

buckeye, your experience it may be, but there is no law in Ohio requiring it. Normally, I don't respond to posts this old, but I did want to clarify your statement.
