I had requested vacation time off for weekending 09/09, and got approval from my manager and district manager. I took my vacation and thought nothing of it. When I got back I checked to make sure my manager put it through with payroll. She is still fairly new to the company so she told me she didn't know how but she had left a message on our DM's company phone and on one of our computer message systems, since she would have to approve my managers time sheet any ways. I think nothing of this until I get a call from my bank this past friday.

We are paid every two weeks, I have my check directly deposited to my account, and my pay stub got mailed to my old address so I didn't have it. When my back called saying my automatic payments for things like my car loan had bounced I started getting worried. I went to my bank and got a statement and saw that my job had failed to pay me my vacation time because our DM didn't log it in the payroll (which she tried to pin on my manager). I was told that I wold get the check for it in 48 hours but I still have a big problem. This has caused me to get 150$ in overdraft fees from my bank. Can I get them to cover this, as my only mistake was trusting them to do their job?

You can always ask them. They are by no means LEGALLY required to cover these costs, since it is technically up to you to make sure you have sufficient funds in your personal accounts to cover any checks you write. However, it's possible that they may be willing to help you out since it was their mistake that caused you to be paid late. It never hurts to ask.

You can try, but they don't have a legal obligation to do so. If you can convince them to do so fine, but it's not required by law.
