well...i am just wondering if there is a certain amount of time per day that you can work, until you reach overtime or is it just a weekly 40 hours?

The workweek is a predefined 7 day period. It does not have to be a calendar week; but it's the 7 day period that your company uses to determine if overtime is worked. This is true for non-exempt workers as defined under FLSA only. If you are exempt under FLSA, there are no circumstances that you'd be entitled to overtime pay when it's worked. icup6seas 09-25-2006, 05:32 PM thanks a lot. cbg 09-26-2006, 09:28 AM The only states where overtime has to be calculated on a daily basis are California, Alaska, Nevada, and in some (but not all) circumstances Colorado. |
