what are the breaks required in ks...back in cali it was 2 fifteen minute breaks and a 30 min lunch...are there required guidelines in ks??

No they are not. The above links review the state laws for meal breaks and rest breaks. Generally speaking Federal law does not address this issue nor do most state laws. Kansas is one of those states that makes no provisions for breaks.

Barring an enforceable employment contract or collective bargaining agreement which negotiate breaks, breaks are not required under law. Company policy prevails on this issue. The company is free to offer breaks or not.

By the way, the law in California is for a TEN minute break for every four hours worked, not 15. With the sole exception of a law protecting SOME hotel workers in Illinois, there is no law in the US for general employment granting 15 minute breaks to any adult employee.
