My husband is being required to attend mandatory night meetings (often on his day off) with no compensation. The meetings are for work purposes. Is this legal?

Oh yes...he is an hourly wage employee working 32 to 40 hours per week in a sales postion. Thanks, thanks, thanks for any information you could share!

If he is a non-exempt employee and the meetings are mandatory, he must be paid for them.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Where could I find the exact language in the labor law that he could use to present his argument?

As a matter of fact, I can. Honestly, that's why cbg keeps me around. ;)

Note that this regulation list the conditions that must exist in order for the time to be noncompensable. If any one of the 4 conditions is false, then the time is compensable.
