my ex says that she is pregnant and if i dont get back with her i wont be able to see my unborn child.
what can i do now to help get some form of custody later?
anyone know of any good lawyers in iowa?

you can't do a lot now.
When the baby is born, you can establish paternity, pay Child support and establish visitation.
However, all of this must be via a judge's order.
She cannot keep your unborn child from you.

Well, just to clarify...she CAN keep your UNBORN child away from you (as she doesn't have to allow you to have anything to do with her or the pregnancy) but once paternity is established after the baby is born, she will not be able to stop a court from awarding visitation (and possibly joint custody), always assuming that you are not deemed to be unfit to be around a child.
(I knew what you meant. Just didn't want the OP to get the idea that he could force her to allow him to be involved with the pregnancy.)
