Hi my name is Krystle My problem is my husband ex- girl who he had a kid with all of sudden changed the spelling of his son first name without even telling us. We just found out when I took him to his open house and i said to her oh they spelt his name wrong and she told me no thats how it is on his birth ceft. which its not on the one we have. So how can she change it without telling us or having my husband sign to this. My step son name is Issaic well that how it be spell since he was born he just turn four in may. Now she is spelling it isaac. Which he already knows how to spell his name issaic and that how everyone in our family spell it. I dont get how my husband didnt have be there for her to change it. We all know she didnt change the last name because than she wont get any money from us. IF someone know if this is legal let me know or if its not legal.. We have called the town hall and the ladies on vacation but the woman that did listen to us was surprise that she could do that... just let me know thanks

Maybe she is trying to have him "socially" adopt the common spelling? dad may want to contact the courthouse where any current orders came from and see if any orders have been made with out his knowledge

I understand about how you are saying the comman spelling but My name isnt common and hes already learned this way and we pay his med and everything else and His name on everything is Issaic except for at school and his new birth ceft. so i think she really couldn't do this but she figure out a way around us.
