I was fired recently from an assisant manager position because back in Jan 06
I borrowed $65.00 from one of my co-worker of which I was friends with before I worked there. And they are telling me that it was "violation of ethics
and conflict of interest policy." And I have known of several instant of this going on and nothing has ever happen to the others, I even know of another manager having a co-worker live with him and all they did was slap his hand and tell him not to do it again. They are denying me my unemployment insurance so I have to appeal it. Is there anything I can do I have worked for this company 10 years and have never been written up for nothing.

You can certainly appeal the unemployment decision but if you are asking if there is any legal recourse you can take against the company, no, there is not. It may have been unfair but it was not illegal.

BTW, your employer did not deny your unemployment benefits - the state did. Your employer does not have the power to either deny or grant benefits; all they can do is contest. But the state makes the decision.

I can't justify allowing some but not others.
