A company I just finished working for has decided to not pay backpay for employees (1 months worth) and has switched from weekly paydays to paying cash daily (with no records of deductions etc..) for the previous days labor. As I am no longer employed at this company, the manager has informed me that he doesn't have the money to pay me either the month's backpay or the cash from the last day I worked. It has been over a week since I worked there, they owe me money from over a month ago, and can't tell me when I will see any of it.

I'd try to look up the applicable laws but since the company is in a Chapter 11, I have no idea where to look. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Jeff

All you need to do is contact your State's Department of Labor and file a complaint for your unpaid wages. They'll take it from there.
