I gave two weeks notice.
I was released after one week.
Employer paid unused pto and first week, but will not pay second week.
Is this legal, I have impression that they need to pay for notice period.

Yes, it is legal. Your impression is incorrect; no law in any state requires an employer to pay out an unworked notice period, regardless of who it is that decides that it will be unworked.

In fact, since Ohio law does not require PTO to be paid, you actually already have gotten more than the law requires.

The above presumes that no CBA or binding employment agreement exists that says otherwise.

curious that they chose to pay the pto.
Took away a dollar and gave me a nickel.
