Hi,
I used to live in an apartments complex from Feb-2005 to Aug-2005 (7 months) then after that I moved to another apartment complex. Then in jan-2006 I received a letter for apartment complex management that I owe them about $200 because I had damaged some stuff in kitchen and bathroom and also mantioned that they had already sent me a letter in sep-oct timeframe. I called them back within 1 week and said that never received any letter in sep-oct about this issue BUT i am still ready to pay whatever i owe but i need proof that I broke these things. Office said that they keep some digital photoes of damage and would send it to me but that I have not recieved till date. Then again in aug-06 they sent me one letter asking for money again with no reference of our conversation that we had in jan-06 and asking for my written answer within some timeframe. I sent them a fax stating again the same thing that please send me pictures and I will give you money based on that. BUT they never replied on that. Today i received one letter form credit collection agency to send them money within 30 days or my written response if I want to dispute.
I dont know what to do now, just for $200 i dont want to go to attorney and waste my time. BUT on the other hand i dont want to pay anything if I have broken anything.
please advise what shoudl i do now.
Thanks and regards
Kapil

Thanks for your reply demartian. Just now I found out that last time i didnt fax them BUT had sent a certified mail on 07/13/06. I have their signed confirmation of receiving my letter asking for proof of damage. So as you said now I guess I can send a copy of it to credit collection deptartment. Let see how it goes...please update me if you or anybody else has any valuable input....Actually i dont mind paying 200 bucks but here the thing is that I dont want to pay for something which I never broke.

Thanks for your kind attention in this matter
